Due to the loss of the original main card of the event for the UFC Lightweight Championship, UFC 130 is not then the same with the expected sexy fight of fans. The Trilogy between Edgar vs. Maynard will have to wait after both of them got injuries. Instead, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson will face Matt Hamill in the new main event. Rampage is 3-2 over his last five fights, with a remarkable knockout over one arch rival in Wanderlei Silva and a decision loss to another arch rival in Rashad Evans. Hamill has turned out to be a far better mixed martial artist than I ever expected after watching him fight on The Ultimate Fighter. He is 10-2 in his career, including 9-2 in the UFC. He has won five in a row and is the only man to put a loss on Jon Jones' record (although it was a disqualification). This will be the most important fight of his career and the one in which he can become a challenger at light heavyweight, or fall into the prelims dimness.

In the co-main event, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion will battle the former IFL Heavyweight Champion when Frank Mir battles Roy Nelson. Mir is 3-2 over his last five fights with losses to Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar. Nelson will take part in his first fight since losing to Junior Dos Santos by unanimous decision.
